Whidbey Roofing and Siding is the roofing and exterior arm of Culver LLC, based in Langley. Jeff Culver has built and remodeled homes on Whidbey Island for more than 30 years. The roofing side of the company grew out of that custom home building work. Whidbey Dirt Works (excavation and site work) and Culver Built (custom homes and remodeling) are our sister businesses.
We are a roofing contractor first. Our roofing crew does full tear-off and re-roof work and fixes leaks, wind-lifted shingles, failed flashing and storm damage. We also build standing seam metal roofs on houses, shops, barns and carports. We install siding and gutters, replace windows and exterior doors, and repair the wood rot that hides under old trim.
Asphalt roofs go on with CertainTeed Landmark, Landmark Pro and Presidential Shake TL shingles. Landmark and Landmark Pro are dimensional shingles; Presidential Shake TL is a triple laminate that looks like hand split shakes. You can look at every color on our shingle color page before you pick one. For metal, we use panels from Nu-Ray Metals, a Washington manufacturer.
We are based in Langley and work Whidbey Island end to end, from Clinton to Oak Harbor. You pick the shingle line and color, or the metal panel profile and color. Our shingle color page shows every CertainTeed color side by side. We order the material and set a start date around the weather.
Tear-off comes first, then decking repair where the wood is soft. Underlayment, flashing, the new roof and the venting go on in order.
The old roofing leaves with us and the ground gets cleaned up. Then we go over the finished job with you and hand over the paperwork.

Whidbey Roofing and Siding (WRS) was the only contractor on the island willing to take on a smaller, but significant project at our home. We do not have a garage, but a carport and patio that not only needed new polycarbonate roofing material, but more importantly some of the supporting wood structure needed replacement due to dry rot. This carport is custom built, but Jeff and WRS did not flinch in suggesting options for roofing and quickly summarizing the scope of structural replacment and improvement needed. Though we had to go with a less expensive roofing option that was not WRS' first choice, they had no problem working with us to use the material they suggested for the 2nd choice, tear-down and replacing the parts of the carport-patio cover support structure needed (which ended up being one-half of the whole cover-structure), assessing the rest of the structure for integrity, painting the structure for us, improving the material used for the facia at their suggestion and being accurate and timely with their work. Jeff the owner and Mike the carpenter/lead worked forthrightly and diligently to re-roof and improve the integerity and safety of a one-off custom carport-patio cover support structure that at least one other contractor said "Hmmmmm" to and did not want to touch. We appreciated WRS' efforts for this as this carport-patio covers the length of our home and plays an important part of our outside-space. Jeff and Mike were also very good with cleanup and hauling out the old materials. Thanks guys.
